FALL HARVEST I
Saturday, September 11, 10am-3:30pm
or Sunday, September 12, 10am-3:30pm

We’ll start the morning in the garden with local farmer, Cathy Hansen, for a tour and talk about the organic harvest at her family farm in Ospringe.  After we harvest our ingredients, we’ll head to Ashlar House for a light lunch followed by an hour or so in the kitchen with What’s Cookin’s owner, Jo Fillery.  Together, we'll prepare a dinner, featuring fresh-picked ingredients from Bernway Farm, for you to take home. Cost: $85/guest or $140/couple plus HST


FALL HARVEST II
Saturday, October 16, 10am-3:30pm
or Sunday, October 17, 10am-3:30pm

We’ll visit with local farmer, Val Steinmann, in Ospringe where the farming is done with the help of horses (and kids!). After we harvest our ingredients, we’ll head to Ashlar House for a light lunch followed by an hour or so in the kitchen with What’s Cookin’s owner, Jo Fillery. BUILD YOUR OWN FALL HARVEST CLASS
Choose your date from September 1 – October 20

Gather together a group of family and friends (10-15 guests) for your own private farm tour, lunch and cooking class.  Contact Jo at What’s Cookin’ to book your group. Cost: $750-$900 plus HST


COOKIN’ WITH BEER
Friday, September 10, 6:30pm-9pm

Join us for a fun, informative evening with Howard the Butcher and Wellington Brewery.  Wellington’s beers offer unique flavours for cooking and Howard is ready to wow your taste buds with beer-based recipes prepared with local beef and pork ribs.  We'll have samples on hand as we talk about the beer products made in Wellington County.  It's sure to be a tasty evening! Cost: $40/guest plus HST


WINE & CHEESE – Back by popular demand!
Friday, October 15, 7pm-9pm

Come to Ashlar House to learn “hands on” how to put together the definitive cheeseboard for your next party.  Learn about wine tasting and how to pair the right wine with the right food with local sommelier and author, Jocelyn Klemm. This evening event includes wine sampling, cheese sampling and recipes. Cost: $30/guest plus HST


HOLIDAY CANAPES
Tuesday, November 23, 12:30-3pm or 7-9:30pm for Menu 1 (vegetarian)
Tuesday, November 30, 12:30-3pm or 7-9:30pm for Menu 2 (meat/seafood)

These hands on classes teach the art of simple make-ahead canapés for holiday entertaining. Enjoy time in the kitchen at Ashlar House and take home 3 dozen canapés ready to heat & serve over the holiday season plus several recipes.  (Retail value of canapés alone is $30+). Cost: $40/guest plus HST or $75/guest plus HST for both classes


BUILD YOUR OWN WORKSHOP
Choose a date from September 1 – December 2

Gather together a group of family and friends (6-10 guests) for your own private cooking class and meal at Ashlar House.  We’ll work together in the kitchen to prepare a memorable meal and then you can sit back and enjoy your meal in the dining room while we look after service and clean up. Classes can be based on a particular culture (e.g. Thai Rice Table), ingredient (e.g. Mushroom Madness!), holiday (e.g. New Year’s Brunch) or equipment (e.g. Raclette Fondue). Cost: $500-$750 plus HST
